November 2018
The fifth annual AMP Lineworkers Rodeo was held Aug. 24-25, 2018, at AMP Headquarters in Columbus. AMP member community lineworkers competed in three levels of competition: apprentice, individual journeyman and journeyman teams.
Competitors participated in several events designed to replicate actual lineworker tasks and test skills that are needed on a daily basis. Judging was based on safety, work practices, neatness, ability, equipment handling and timely event completion.
Overall winners in AMP’s Rodeo are eligible for AMP-sponsored funding to participate in the American Public Power Association’s 2019 Lineworkers Rodeo in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
