Amplifier Magazine

Since the mid-1980s, Amplifier has been the flagship publication of American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP). The magazine has regularly provided a variety of technical and human-interest stories about AMP members, the electric industry and public power. It has served as the informational hub for elected and appointed decision makers in AMP member communities across nine states – Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.

Transition to a digital magazine

In 2022, Amplifier transitioned to a digital magazine in an effort to stay abreast of trends in media and to present content in a timelier and more effective fashion using videos, infographics and slideshows. Amplifier will be updated in regular intervals and will continue to highlight popular features, including “Of Member Concern,” “Because You Belong,” “Member Profiles” and “Safeside.”

The digital format of Amplifier also helps support AMP’s efforts to live up to sustainability principles.
